Ratzon Chesed Network
The Ratzon Chesed Network is a mutual aid project for community members located in Pittsburgh. Ratzon Chesed Network (RCN) is a "by us, for us" model of collective care. Our goal is to build an interdependent web of gemilut ḥasidim (acts of loving kindness) that helps us get our needs met and connect to each other. We will not provide any external facing support, but will care for our fellow group members.
When we launched RCN in spring of 2022, it kicked off with a series on Jewish mutual aid in our weekly Beit Midrash, in which we studied the basis for mutual aid in Jewish texts, sometimes comparing them with anarchist texts and principles. We also had an excellent session on the history of Jewish mutual aid in Pittsburgh, lead by Jewish historian Eric Lidji.
If you'd like to join this experimental care network, sign up at this link (request access in order to view and edit). Our Brit (which means covenant) lives here; note that it is a living document that will evolve as we try this out.
Contact Charlie ([email protected]) with any questions.
